           Confabulicious.com is a mix of personal chronicles, special interest feature stories, educational articles, how-to tools and product reviews.  While I generate a majority of the content, I welcome guest bloggers who meet certain qualifications, and will solicit direct information from experts as often as possible.  Here is an overview of what you can find within the site:

Confabulations:  To confabulate is to chat informally filling in gaps in memory with fabrications.  This section of the website contains mostly personal opinions and chronicles of the events in my life. 

Food & Wine:  Let’s face it, as mom’s we spend a substantial portion of our days focused on the feeding of our loved ones.   The phase ‘What’s for dinner, mom’, sometimes makes me want to curl into the fetal position, or even worse…order pizza.   Yet, I am a good cook and actually love cooking.  It’s just that the whole day after day, meal after meal thing that can be overwhelming.  It’s a thankless job, but we must triumph, ladies so let’s lift each other up off our kitchen floors with ideas, resources, tips.  Share your tried and true, “go to” meal ideas and I’ll share mine.    When it’s all too much, grab a nice bottle of red and have a drink.  

            Which leads me to the next subject…wine.  Here’s the crazy thing.  Along the way, in a moment of weakness, my husband and I and two other partners opened a winery called VitaLuce Cellars.  Somehow, we managed to produce award-winning wines and I learned a lot about the wine business in the process—the good, the bad and the ugly.  I will share a few tidbits with you and insight to some of the best boutique wineries in Paso Robles, California and Arentina. 

Home School:  Two years ago, I decided to home school my rug rats.  Since then, I have developed a passion for education, and have become a self-professed education enthusiast and curriculum junkie.   With increasing strains on our national education system, I believe home and self-directed education is gaining momentum.  Class sizes in California are quickly growing to 40+  children and resources are getting cut to the bare bones.  Even the most basic college education will cost the equivalent of a retirement plan.  More and more parents will be faced with home school as a complete or partial alternative.  This section of the website provides a glimpse into the secret and mysterious world of home school.  It offers tips for parents with children in the traditional education system on how to assess and supplement their children’s education.  In the process am building an extensive and fabulous collection of education resources (including gifted education) that I am thrilled to share with you. 

Nutrition & Fitness:   In a perfect world, this would be my priority because without our health, we have nothing.  It is our personal responsibility to keep ourselves and our loved ones healthy and fit.  That is a big undertaking.  I struggle with this like many of you and my journey is more like a roller coaster than a straight line.  The goal of this section is to provide up to the minute data and resources on certain key nutrition and fitness issues that women face, and to provide encouragement and support to each other so we can age gracefully and feel beautiful at each stage of our journey.  Because research evolves and changes continually, I suggest you use this section of the website as a launching point and conduct your own research as well.  Commit completely to nurturing the Goddess within.

The Arts:   I am passionate about the arts and know first hand how important the arts are to the human experience.  I will do whatever I can to support growth in the arts, especially for children.  The goal of this section is to build awareness on all levels.  The more people know about the arts, the more willing they might be to lend support.  This section features artists, photographers, dancers, musicians, authors, poets, architects, producers and organizations that are both well known, and up and coming and provides a “behind the scenes” look at this amazing and creative world. 

Travel & Business:   I have been blessed in my life with extensive travel experiences and travel continues to be important to my family.  Part of the reason we home school is to have the flexibility to travel.  My kids have been in 18 countries in less than a decade.    This section will highlight some of the fabulous places we have experienced and plan to experience.

            Even though my career no longer centers on the corporate world, I can’t help thinking about business.  As a serial entrepreneur, it’s just in my nature.  I love business.  I love building things.  I love making money.  I love being on top of the trends shaping industry and the economy.  I love helping others improve their marketing and branding strategies.  As I plow through the new world of blogging, I’ll share tips and tidbits of useful information.  There are over 15 million women blogging now.  That is a staggering statistic. Some of them are very successful.  Others do it for personal satisfaction and record keeping.  I believe this is a segment of the market in which us female types can really shine. 

Zen & Wellness:  Don’t we all seek clarification and inspiration?  I am looking for it everywhere I can, and because I am such a slow learner, it takes me a while to get it right.  This section of the blog is devoted to digging deep and looking inside.  It’s dedicated to relationships–first and foremost, with ourselves, and then with others, our community, our country and our planet.  It’s about peak performance of mind, body and spirit.
