Kim: (That’s me)

Me on a GOOD day.

I am a veteran (and possibly serial) entrepreneur with a 20 year career spanning Advertising, Branding, Interior Design and Real Estate Development.  In April 2007, I decided to shift gears and stay home with my two children.  I now home school the kids while simultaneously working on my career as a blogger, author, marketing consultant, and information product publisher.  This blog unfolds via the adventures I am experiencing in my transition from “glass ceiling breaker to home maker” and chronicles my requisite shift from materialism to spiritualism.  In the process, I am embracing the sometimes overwhelming but fabulous changes in my life.

Hubby:  (A man of a certain age)

My Hubby with the Kids.

This is my husband, the father of my children, and my hero.  He is not sure about this whole blogging thing and will remain cautiously on the sidelines.

Darling Daughter aka. ‘Tina ballerina:

Tina Ballerina with her idol, prima ballerina, Polina Seminova.

Tina Ballerina is fearless, competitive, courageous and wise beyond her years.  Her passion is ballet and she walked on her tiptoes before she walked on flat feet.  She also plays the piano and writes incredibly insightful poetry.  (I am pretty sure she is simultaneously channeling the famous Russian ballerina, Maximova, as well as Mozart and Emily Dickenson).  She has a big white aura and an optismistic, “can-do” outlook on life.  She is cool under pressure and loves to perform.  She wants to be a politician (possibly President) and a prima ballerina when she grows up.  Is there a college major for dancing polititians?  They certainly “spin” a lot, so maybe that applies.

That Kid Again!   (Click on the title to the left to see her in action)

Darling Son aka. Tween Tech Guy:

Doesn't this look like a kid you want tech advice from?

Tween Tech Guy is sensitive, intelligent, creative and persistent.  His passions are music, computers, outer space and his friends.  His screensaver is a photo of the Pillars of Creation and he can tell you all about them if you are willing to listen.  He is a talented pianist and loves to entertain us with songs that are fast and furious like Turkish March and Solfeggietto.   He can fix anything electronic and pretty much handles the IT function in our house.  When he was 7, he figured out the algebraic equation for the surface area of a sphere.  He wants to be an astrophysicist, IT guy and DJ when he grows up.   Personally, I think he’ll take over for either Adam or Jamie on Myth Buster’s in a few years.   Shhh! Don’t let them know that their jobs are in jeopardy.  But in the meantime, he offers Tech Advice.  If you have a question, send it my way and he’ll find an answer.

Georgie: (Photo of cuddly fluffball coming soon!)

Georgie, the toothless wonder is an angel in our lives.  Right before my daughter turned 10, she began begging for a four legged friend.  Challenge #1:  my husband isn’t a dog lover.  Challenge #2:  We travel a lot.  But Tina ballerina is rather persuasive when she wants to be and didn’t let a little thing like her father’s wishes or our travel schedule get in her way.  Of course, she wanted a cute little pure bred puppy, but I explained her best option was an older dog that was small, mellow, house broken and not interested in chewing.  So we visited www.petfinders.com and found Georgie.  Since he came with no teeth and no personal history, we know nothing of his age or bloodline.  We are quite convinced that he is descended from doggie royalty.  He has one bad habit–he barks like a maniac at other dogs, making him an ideal candidate for the Dog Whisperer.  Help us, Caesar Milan.
